Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival

Every September, the town comes alive as thousands of singles from around the world flock to the town in search of love, companionship, and unforgettable memories. The festival, which spans most of the month, dates back over 160 years and has become Europe’s largest matchmaking event.
The highlight of the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival is the involvement of a traditional matchmaker, most famously Willie Daly, a third-generation matchmaker who uses his well-worn “love ledger” to connect hopeful partners.
The festival is more than just matchmaking; it’s a vibrant celebration filled with music, dancing, and socializing, featuring lively céilís, country music performances, and late-night parties.
Attendees experience the warm hospitality of the locals and the unique blend of traditional and modern matchmaking customs that make this event an iconic part of Irish heritage.
