Lahinch is located on the Atlantic Coast of County Clare approximately 45 miles from Galway City and 40 miles from Limerick City.

The Beach

The beach here is regarded as one of the best in Ireland with two kilometres of sandy shore on Liscannor Bay.
A walk along the promenade or on the beach, especially at sunset is a beautiful experience. Many water sports are popular here including surfing, sailing, swimming, kite surfing, diving, and fishing.


The town has become synonymous with Surfing in Ireland because of the excellent waves and conditions on the beach.
There are quite a few surf schools in the area and visitors can book lessons and hire surfboards and other surfing gear.

Lahinch Golf Club has one of Ireland’s foremost links courses and is very popular with home players and visitors. It has been home to a number of prestigious tournaments over the years.

The town has long been a family holiday resort with its beach and many holiday attractions for all the family including children. The town has a number of amusement centres and Seaworld Leisure Centre which includes an indoor swimming pool, activity centre, gym, movie centre and much more. This is a great facility especially for children when the weather is bad. Various Kids Camps and numerous fun activities are organized from there.
